Preparing for Your Move

Prior to moving day, make sure to follow the guidelines below to ensure a smoother, faster, safer experience:

-Reserve a parking spot for the moving truck at both locations. For row homes, this often entails contacting the City to receive placards for street parking. For apartment buildings, this often entails informing the building management which day you’re scheduled to move, so they can reserve the loading dock and elevators.

-Pack up belongings for easier transport. Our moving team will be able to complete the job faster and safer if all items are consolidated. Generally, this means: Anything that can fit into a box should be put into a box. (Garbage bags can also be good way to pack up pillows and softer items.) Fragile items should be packed with paper and/or bubble wrap.
Wissahickon Moving Company can also pack everything in your home for you before the move. We just need to know ahead of time so that we can bring the appropriate supplies.

-Please be aware that we cannot take some items on the truck, such as: propane tanks, paint cans, and other hazardous or combustable materials.
